My name is Isabell Sarstedt, I am 28 years old and currently employed at Hazelight Studios in Stockholm as Animator since January in 2015. My primary area of expertise lays in animating cutscenes and event animations using data from motion capture. I also excel in gameplay and move-set animations. Besides motion capture I enjoy hand keying animations for creature and facial animation that convey strong emotions of all kind. One of my preferences in animations is animating characters and creatures in story driven games. I enjoy bringing life to a story through animation.
My dream has always been to work in the business I love, which Hazelight has given me the opportunity to do. During my three years at Hazelight I have seen the game grow and prosper from the very start and all of us employees have been allowed to make a great impact on the gameplay, on the characters and even on the story itself.
My employment at my current company started with an internship for 6 months after which I got a full-time job. The internship was part of my 2-year education at ‘The Future Games Assembly. The Future Games Assembly is an Advanced vocational education located in Stockholm. At Future Games I studied 3D Animation and Graphics. We finished 3 game projects during the education, my part in the game projects was in the beginning game design, illustrator and graphics artist and animator, towards the end of the education I solely focused on animation.
Before studying at Future Games, I had my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at the University in Gävle. I got all the credits available, 180 out of 180. At the university I was introduced to and studied 3D Graphics and Animation amongst various other computer graphic related topics. During my teens I attended schools where we daily used the English language throughout the school years. This has been a huge help since the industry even in Sweden has proven to mainly use English as the preferred language. I see myself as a happy and positive person with great patience and an optimistic view of life, which I believe is of great importance when facing trials and challenges.
I have always stood by the belief that open communication and feedback is the main ingredient to make communication work and flourish. When it comes to performance I am constantly ready to give everything to achieve the best possible result and I have always lived by my own code that everything is possible with hard work and a positive attitude. To me, feedback is a must for al type of skill development as you never finish learning.
Through my work, my studies and my life experiences, I have gathered many abilities that I believe to be very valuable assets, and I am looking forward to developing these abilities further in an inspiring and challenging environment.
